Michigan Governor Snyder invoked Abraham Lincoln during his inaugural today:
'President Abraham Lincoln was looking to America’s future during the darkest times of the Civil War when he said: “The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise to the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.”
We can heed his words and enter this new year with a clean slate.'
